The tranquility of the Manatee brings harmony to our life.
May they not go quietly into that long night, we call extinction.

We are currently looking for Manatee Watch Volunteers for Crystal River and Homosassa Springs for the winter of 2000. If you can help CLICK here to email ManateeWatch.org for further information. Never argue, never threaten, there is no need.
It's best to catch people prior to their disturbing the Manatee and explain that the Manatees survive the cold by conserving energy while sleeping by greatly reducing the heart rate. And when disturbed they must raise the heart rate to relocate themselves thus consuming precious fuel. Always remember that NO ONE especially the guide captains are in the water to harm the Manatees. Education is the best protection the Manatee can recieve. Always remember that
"Personally, I'm always ready to learn,
although I do not always like being taught." ~ Winston Churchill
Odds really are the Manatee is having good time, LET IT! |
